In 2019, I completed a personal product design project that captured my passion for turning old and forgotten elements into cool creations. The focal point of this design project was the transformation of second-hand and used materials, as well as worn-out items abandoned in nature, into something new. The name ‘Relic speaker’ was inspired by the idea of unexpectedly discovering an old object, even underground.
The main feature of the speaker is the contrast between the rough texture of concrete and the aged, rusty metal. These materials, often considered brutal, came together to create a truly unique object. The minimal design features a single volume knob, also made from aged metal. This project captures my belief that design can breathe new life into the forgotten, turning them into something that works well and looks good.
